Neighborhood Health Plan Information
for Massachusetts Residents
NASRO rates the Neighborhood Health Plan as our best
buy because of the value it brings our individual and small business members by having
excellent benefit plans that now offer access to in network specialists without a referral from the primary care physician, all with no deductibles for most plans, low administrative
costs, access to many times the same doctors and hospitals
as the more well known plans and the most affordable monthly
prices in the state year after year.
Their primary care
providers include the major multi specialty groups such
as Harvard Vanguard throughout greater Boston, Brigham & Womens in Newton, Southborough Medical Group, South Shore
Medical Group and the Lahey Clinic, as well as Brigham &
Women's, Beth Israel, Boston University Medical Center.
All of Boston's specialty hospitals and their many of their
specialists are also part of the plan.
From the feedback we receive from our members
NHP is the most humane HMO in the state, with an excellent
clinical management staff. NHP is headquartered in downtown
Boston, is offered to Massachusetts state employees and
has a contract with the state to provide health care. The NHP plans also provide urgent and emergency coverage outside of Massachusetts.
No one likes to change
doctors, but with monthly health insurance premiums costing
more than many house mortgages, and NHP offering much lower
premium costs for greater health insurance benefits, you
may want to through investigate the quality of health care
that is available to members though NHP. We are fourtunate that greater Boston is one of the top five centers for medical excellence in the United States. There are many excellent physician groups to choose from.
